We should all know some Bible verses to help guide us in our daily lives. Here is a list of short verses that would be easy to memorize for the whole family. Try printing one out each week/month and post it on the refrigerator. Award prizes for family members who memorize it by the end of the week/month.



Bible Verses

Psalm 27:1-2 – the Lord is my light and my salvation; whom then shall I fear? The Lord is the strength of my life; of whom then shall I be afraid?

Proverbs 3:3-4 – Let love and faithfulness never leave you; bind them around your neck, write them on the tablet of your heart. Then you will win favor and a good name in the sight of God and man.

Proverbs 3:5-6 – Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your understanding; in all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight.

Matthew 22:36-40 – Teacher, which is the greatest commandment in the Law? Jesus replied, “Love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your mind. This is the first and greatest commandment. And the second is like it: “You shall love your neighbor as yourself. All the Law and the Prophets hang on these two commandments.”

Luke 6:37-38 – Do not judge and you will not be judged. Do not condemn and you will not be condemned. Forgive and you will be forgiven. Give, and it will be given to you.

Romans 15:7 – Accept one another, then just as Christ accepted you, in order to bring praise to God.

Hebrews 11:1
– Now faith is being sure of what we hope for and certain of what we do not see.

1 Thessalonians 5:16-17 – Be joyful always, pray continually, give thanks in all circumstances, for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus.

Matthew 7:12 – So in everything, do to others what you would have them do to you, for this sums up the Law and the Prophets.

Micah 6:8b
– What does the Lord require of you? To act justly and to love mercy and to walk humbly with your God.

Ephesians 4:32
– Be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving each other, just as Christ God forgave you.
